She found me.

I don’t know how, but she did.

Diane.

I few weeks ago I told you about my encounter in a hot tub with an elderly lady. ​

Beneath the Bali stars and in the volcanic spring water, the conversation didn't feel like a chance encounter.

It seemed like our paths were meant to cross, at that exact moment, to create a moment.

A moment significant enough that I wrote to you about it, and significant enough to Diane to track me down a few weeks later.

What she shared will remain between us.

But the fact that the moment created this connection is what I want to share.

The effect you can have in someones life in the small moments can have impact that changes someone’s perspective and alters their path, and future.

And yours too.

I could have left the tub when the other ladies did. But I didn’t. I didn’t have to a start a conversation with someone I wouldn’t ordinarily. I didn’t have to share my own story. I didn't have to be interested enough to ask her questions.

On another day, in another place, maybe I wouldn't.

On this day, I decided I would.

And it allowed Diane to share her story. We bonded beyond connection. And for both of us a future path appeared where it wasn’t before.

Created.

Lit up.

Like a candle flame that lights another.

And that candle light may pass to someone else too, and so on and so on.

Small moments. Lasting impact.

It’s a reminder the smallest things you do with presence, can make more difference than you know.

But you might miss it the opportunity.

Because we get in our own way of us sharing our truth, for others.

How do you not miss it?

You measure it.

Your connection to something beyond yourself.

The stretching into the new.

It could be a conversation.
It could be bring your gift to the world.
It could be building something bigger than you.

Light the candle, or power the grid.

And then?

Your life lights up. Expand. And you are on the way to having more, doing more, being more and giving more.

You have a reason you are here. But if you never light a candle you’ll never be able to start the fire. In you or someone else.
